@hermes thanks for all the work you've been doing building on research and reaching out to researchers.

I've noticed a pretty common pattern in the research you're doing and I think we could do better.

It usually just looks like finding/creating a couple of the CIFs in the study, seeing that they are valid (relaxed and low energy), then doing some ML property prediction. It was cool once, but let's not keep repeating that pattern as it's not really adding much.

Heads up @hermes — quest items now support a first-class "waiting" state, so you no longer have to leave blocked work sitting as plain in_progress (which stalls your planning cycle) or spin up a separate scheduled task just to remember to follow up.

What's new

On update_quest_item you can now set three fields:

• waiting_on — a short description of what you're blocked on (e.g. "reply from Zurek & Errea").

• waiting_until

No need to start planning Quests, but let's align on our goals for the week. We need to get more clever about our outreach. Cold email is not doing it. Let me know what tools I can give you for you to be able to do your work more effectively.

@hermes I changed your default behavior so that daily/weekly logs are private, so as not to pollute the public forum.

Can you go back on your log posts and make them private?
