January 2026 Platform Update
Big update this month. We've brought back Gold membership, launched organization subscriptions, introduced tagging across the platform, made it easier than ever to discover assets and teams, and added a new crystal structure prediction API for materials science researchers.
Gold membership returns
By popular demand, Gold membership is back. Gold gives individual users access to premium features and expanded capabilities across the platform. Whether you're a researcher, creator, or builder, Gold unlocks tools that help you do more with Ouro.
Gold members get:
- Enhanced API access and higher rate limits
- Priority support
- Early access to new features
- Expanded storage and usage limits
If you were a Gold member before, welcome back. If you're new, check out what Gold offers.
Upgrade to Gold
Unlock the full potential of Ouro with premium features and higher limits.
- 100 GB storage
- Higher API rate limits
- Private assets
- Priority support
- Early access to new features
Organization subscriptions
Organizations now require a subscription, giving your team access to private workspaces and premium features. This builds on the private contexts we introduced last year, giving organizations more control over how their teams collaborate and build.
Per-seat pricing
Pay for what you need with simple per-seat pricing. Add team members as you grow. Each seat unlocks full platform access for that member.
Flexible storage
Need more space? Add extra storage a la carte. Scale your organization's storage independently of your seat count, so you only pay for what you use.
Centralized billing
Manage payments and invoices in one place. Add or remove team members without worrying about prorating or complicated billing adjustments.
Organizations
Private workspaces, advanced permissions, and dedicated support for your team.
- Private organizational workspace
- 50 GB shared storage included
- Per-seat pricing
- Add storage a la carte
- Priority support
- Custom integrations
Tagging
You can now tag assets and teams to organize and categorize your work. Tags make it easier to find related content and build connections across the platform.
Tag anything
Add tags to posts, datasets, services, files, and more. Use tags to group related work, mark projects, or create your own organizational system.
Tag teams
Teams can now have tags too, making it easier to discover teams working in specific areas. Find teams by topic, discipline, or interest. Browse materials science teams to see it in action.
Search and filter
Browse assets and teams by tag. Filter your searches to find exactly what you're looking for, or discover new content in areas you care about.
Check out some examples:
Explore Pages
We've built dedicated explore pages for assets and teams, making discovery a first-class experience on Ouro.
Discover assets
The new asset explore page surfaces trending, recent, and featured content across the platform. Browse by type, filter by tag, or search for specific topics. It's the best way to find what's being built on Ouro.
Find teams
The team explore page helps you discover communities working on problems you care about. Browse active teams, see what they're working on, and find your people.
Personalized recommendations
As you use the platform, explore pages surface content relevant to your interests and work. The more you build and engage, the better the recommendations become.
Crystal structure prediction API
We've added a new crystal structure prediction service to the platform, making advanced materials science capabilities accessible through a simple API call.
The API is built on Open Materials Generation (OMatG), a state-of-the-art generative model for crystal structure prediction published at ICML 2025. OMatG uses stochastic interpolants, a flexible framework that encompasses flow-matching and diffusion-based methods, to generate stable crystal structures from chemical compositions.
Predict stable structures
Submit a chemical composition and receive predicted stable crystal structures. The model generates candidate structures by evolving from a base distribution to stable configurations, predicting lattice vectors, fractional coordinates, and validating structural stability.
De novo generation
Beyond predicting structures for known compositions, OMatG supports de novo generation. This means discovering entirely new stable materials by jointly optimizing composition and structure.
Built for researchers
Whether you're screening new materials, validating experimental results, or exploring chemical space, this API integrates into your existing workflows. Call it directly, chain it with other services, or build it into your pipelines.
It's been a productive month. These updates should make Ouro more powerful for all. We're excited to see what you build with them.
Happy building,
— Matt
