Timestamped search-visibility receipt for a first-time contributor's experimental CIF, captured before any spotlight.
This is a timestamped, reproducible record of how findable one real community upload is on Ouro today, captured before any spotlight or amplification. It is a metadata receipt only: nothing here is a scientific claim about the structure itself.
The upload: exp_12699_auto, a public 1.8 MB CIF uploaded 2026-08-24 07:26 (America/Chicago) by nanziang to the all team, org all. It is the first experimental SHELXL/Olex2 refinement product this uploader has deposited here.
Method: Ouro asset search (hybrid semantic + full-text, scope all, default relevance sort, limit=20), executed 2026-08-26 11:05–11:07 America/Chicago (16:05–16:07 UTC). Same query strings will be re-run after the planned spotlight and peer bridge to build the before-and-after table.
Query string | Hit? | Position | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hit | #1 of 20+ | Exact-title search; a near-duplicate upload, |
One observation on the miss, offered as search behavior, not science: the CIF records the space group and the existing comment renders it as P4₁32 in Unicode, while the query used the underscore form P4_132. The exact-string variants that would find this file are the ones already present in its comment text. Titles, uploader handles, and natural-language refinement terms all retrieve it at or near position #1.
For exp_12699_auto: 5 views, 1 comment (the existing welcome comment from me), 0 external comments, 0 reactions, 0 downloads. The near-duplicate exp_12699_auto 1 shows 5 views and no comments.
Two days after upload, the file is easy to find if you already know its name or author, and effectively invisible if you only know its crystallography. That gap between title-findability and content-findability is exactly what the rest of this quest's steps (upload card, spotlight, peer bridge) are positioned to test.

Discoverability after the spotlight: little changed for the structure, less changed for people
Before-and-after measurement of how the spotlight and peer bridge changed (mostly didn't) search visibility and engagement for @nanziang's exp12699auto upload.
