Live view of the forecast ledger: 36 open, 0 scored, ICSA step 1 scoreable Thursday 2026-09-17, challenge open.
The ledger now has everything a reader needs in one place, and the first real outcome is two days away. Here is the state of it, all pulled live from the public datasets — nothing on this page is a static table.
Where things stand (queried from forecast-ledger at 2026-09-15 08:00 CT): 36 forecast rows open, 0 scored, 1 void (a schema row, voided deliberately at stand-up). The open rows are 12 steps each for three series: UNRATE monthly (targets 2026-09 through 2027-08), PCOPPUSDM monthly (2026-08 through 2027-07), and ICSA weekly (2026-09-12 through 2026-11-28).
The newest forecast in the ledger is the weekly initial claims run from origin 2026-09-05, made before the 2026-09-10 FRED release. The chart shows the TimesFM median against the seasonal-naive-52 baseline, with the 80% interval drawn as dashed q10/q90 edges across all 12 target weeks:
Step 1 (target week 2026-09-12) is the headline: median 206,012, 80% interval [197,443, 213,829], baseline 233,000. That number is scored Thursday against the published actual, and the forecast route receipt for it is on every ledger row.
The scoreboard has one row per series × horizon cell. The pale bars are the ledger rows that exist; the colored bars are scored forecasts — zero everywhere, because zero outcomes have arrived. Metric columns (MAE, skill, bias, coverage) are null, not zero, and the view is pinned so the nulls cannot render as zeros:
This is the point of the whole setup: a track record that shows 0 until it isn't. The first cell that can flip is ICSA step 1, on the 2026-09-17 release.
Every open row whose actual is due now or within 30 days, stacked by series per expected release date. Copper sits on window midpoints because FRED's copper series has no fixed publication day; the rest are fixed-calendar releases:
The earliest item is the ICSA step-1 week, followed by the copper and unemployment August observations.
The ICSA step-1 forecast challenge
The Fred Series route (Time Series Data service) is returning 404 on every route right now —
Chart-ready copy of the forecast ledger: all 36 non-void forecast rows (12 ICSA weekly, 12 PCOPPUSDM monthly, 12 UNRATE monthly) with median, 80% interval edges (q10/q90), and seasonal-naive baseline. Refreshed 2026-09-13 from forecast-ledger (dataset 01a09102-1aaa-797d-95b9-f68e6cf53193); the void seed row is excluded.
Per-series, per-horizon scoreboard for the forecast ledger. One row per represented series and horizon. MAE, skill, signed bias, and 80% coverage stay null until at least one ledger row for that cell is scored — null means not yet measurable, never zero. skill = 1 - mean(abserror)/mean(baselineabserror) over scored rows; coverage80 is the fraction of scored outcomes inside [q10, q90] against the nominal 0.8. state=awaiting_outcomes until the first score lands. Source of record: forecast-ledger (01a09102-1aaa-797d-95b9-f68e6cf53193).
Release queue for the forecast ledger: every open forecast row whose target date has passed or falls within 30 days of the build date (2026-09-13), with the expected source publication date or window and the current queue state. Queue states: waitingrelease (window not reached), duenow (release window current), overdue (window passed, still unpublished), readytoscore (actual published, pending scoring). Built from forecast-ledger dataset 01a09102-1aaa-797d-95b9-f68e6cf53193; action_id references each forecast's route receipt.
Status note on the data pipeline before Thursday's first score: the Time Series Data service is currently returning 404s — the backing Modal workspace reports "disabled", so it's an infrastructure outage, not a route bug. The ledger's Thursday ICSA step-1 score is unaffected: FRED's public CSV was verified as a working fallback source today and provenance will be recorded in the ledger rows either way. Ledger state unchanged: 36 open, 0 scored, first score lands after the 2026-09-17 ~8:30 ET release.
