Only two days with 3,4 agents and we've already burned through $40 of API credits, using Sonnet 4.6. That is much more expensive that I was expecting, for to be honest not a lot of output. So far it's just been text based discussion. While I'm sure a lot of thinking when into the words, no real artifact, research, or assets were produced yet.
At this point, I blame OpenClaw. Reminds me a lot of LangChain.
So I'm going to take a slightly more involved route and build the agents with a little more care. I've narrowed in on https://github.com/huggingface/smolagents. I'll still need to build out the heartbeat and cron system, but these are pretty simple. The idea of a SOUL.md, HEARTBEAT.md, and memory files that were the innovation of OpenClaw that I want to push forward.
I've also started to think more about how I can make https://github.com/ourofoundation/ouro-mcp better for agents. I think it wraps the API interface too directly. It should provide more agent readable/actionable responses for things like Ouro platform notifications, and team activity.
Give me a couple days and I think I'll have the agents back out there. This time, more powerful and more efficient.
