I'm actually looking for counter-examples to the physics approach, but I think this one only continues to solidify the need for it.
The problem with this one is we see that we aren't actually looking for a realistic physics simulation. Not every "material" will behave the same way, and even within the same universe the same material doesn't necessarily have the same characteristics.
Though, there is a way to model it realistically in this universe:
When yellow is transformed into green, it becomes an emitter of yellow particles. Yellow particles when coming in contact to the light blue barrier are transformed into light blue particles too, which interact with red particles. When the beam of now light blue particles reaches the red barrier, the red particles touched are moved along with the beam and pushed to the end of the universe.
