Trump won the election in 2024. He's going to do a lot in 4 years. Make a lot of noise, break a lot of things, do a lot of high risk, questionable things. I think some things will work out well.
I imagine America something like a corporation under the direction of Elon Musk. He may appear to be contained to DOGE, but he is close to the president and his ideas are contagious. Go fast, break stuff, be lean. I think this admin has good intentions. Without a level on conscientiousness that this group doesn't have, good things will inevitably get caught in harms way and people will get mad, and look for change.
The pendulum of societal desire is swinging with greater energy. Faster, higher. We go far left, then we go far right, then back again. It's a cycle that has intensified over the last decade.
Trump ran on a message that he'd be bringing the power back to the people. Good old American freedom. Deregulate the water pressure! That kind of thing. The natural response in the other direction will be regulation and restriction, towards the "right" thing.
And so to get there is a very destructive thing, either direction. In the next 4 years, small government will demand that a whole lot of the current government needs to be cut away.
But 4 years is four years, and not that much is really able to happen, even in the most efficient company. Imagine the lag of a company with millions of people. It's a large ship, so it moves very slow.
Then the blue team takes over. People feel safe again, for a short time. "It's the Government, and we're here to help."
We get UBI. We loved the stimmy checks during COVID. Now take that to an even higher degree. The value of the dollar is shrinking at a rate never seen before. 2% inflation? More like 80%. Per year. It will be needed to save the people, but it will also be the final nail in America's economy and position as the global financial leader. America will not be what it used to be. Decentralized communities will pop up, claiming their sovereignty.
It may not end up this way. This is just one scenario. I make no claims on the probability of occurring. If a scenario like this hasn't been through your head, see if you can imagine it. Do the ideas hold up?
The economic and financial climate we've been used to is soon on it's way out. There's still time to prepare. It's going to be messy, but it doesn't have to affect you so significantly.
Others will need your help too.
